    Kaffeine and DVDs

How do I get Kaffeine to play DVDs?

    The message I get is:

    Source can't be read.
Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or source doesn't contain data (e.g.: no disc in drive)(Encrypted or faulty DVD)

These packages are build (and sometimes tested on a Debian sid/unstable system. It probably won't work with Ubuntu. Ubuntu is not Debian, it's now a completely different distribution.

          Re: Kaffeine and DVDs

You edit /etc/apt/sources.list and add Cerkinfo Debian Repository or debian-multimedia repositories.

          Hmm - I downloaded libdvdcss2 from plf
          Penguin Liberation Front
          http://plf.zarb.org/

          It tells now:
          PLF Ubuntu new maintainers

New maintainers for PLF Ubuntu were found, more info once everything is set up again.

The PLF Ubuntu project is shutting down, due to lack of time of its maintainers. New volunteers are welcome.
          and

This project is now being maintained by Lionel Le Folgoc ( mr_pouit, on
irc.freenode.net ), more info to come.

Well - when they are setting things up. I uploaded libdvdcss2_1.2.9-1plf4_i386.deb (111 kb) to the

          and

I downloaded libdvdcss2 from plf (ubuntu, dapper) before they shut down. And here everything is ok.

            Re: Kaffeine and DVDs

I was in Adept repositories and found Auto was allowing Edgy to do updates. I removed that line and will uninstall Auto and reload to see what happens. Thanks for the eye opener.
