Suggestions for a firewall frontend wanted

Suggestions please for an easy to use frontend to IPtables. I'm not after anything hugely sophisticated, but I want to be able to open specific TCP/UDP ports while having everything else closed by default. Access restricted by subnet is desirable also.

A search of the repos gives quite a few, so I'd like some advice as to what people think is best.

Alternatively, an understandable guide to 'raw' iptables configuration. I've looked but not found anything I really 'get'
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 (yes Gnome) with upgrades applied daily about 0900 UK time. Hardware is Dell Precision 420, 2x 800 MHz PIII, 512 MB RDRAM, nVidia GeForce 6800 128 MB AGP graphics, 18GB SCSI and 500GB IDE HDDs, DVD burner, Hauppage TV card.

Guarddog is a good one. Highly configurable and still not soo complicated. But the basic services like http, dns, ftp etc have to be enabled first, otherwise everything will be blocked.
