WLan and Battery Applet for KDE/Kubuntu

    Hi all,

I've just switched over to Kubuntu from Ubuntu - mostly to try out the KDE world... and am really happy with it at the moment..

But I am having trouble finding suitable replacements for the network manager and the battery applet in Ubuntu..

    (1) The default wLan assistant is nice, but it doesn't reconnect to a configured network each time my laptop start up from hibernate/etc.
Is there an auto reconnect option?
Or is Wifi Radar a better app for laptops?

    (2) On Ubuntu/gnome, you can add a battery monitor applet on the menubar. For laptops, this is great - takes up little space and you know your battery status at a glance..
Is there a similar app in KDE/Kubuntu?
ie, to have a battery monitor applet sitting on the menubar... (NOT the bottom panel...)

    thanks....
