I recently decided to try kubuntu. I use goglobal_ux with ubuntu to connect with servers at work. When I tried to launch goglobal_ux under kubuntu I would receive an error message Unable to connect to localhost:0.0. I could not find any setting in the System Settings which would allow local connections to the xserver. Finally I searched the kdmrc file and found ServerArgsLocal=-nolisten tcp.
I changed this to ServerArgsLocal= and rebooted. Now goglobal_ux works.
Is there some kde setting that I missed which will allow local connections?
