    Have anyone tried berly wm on dapper

    It works pretty well for me.

    It does crash ever so often, whereas compiz never did once for me. Also the desktop switcher only shows one desktop but I can get to the other desktops with keystrokes. And last but not least about 2 of 4 times it will not start automatically even though beryl-manager has a symlink in my Autostart directory. When that happens I can start it from the Konsole.

    Overall it rocks. I no longer feel the longing for the operative feel of OS X or Windows. I use to think both Gnome and KDE were klunky.

      Can you point me to a how to.Are you saying use comp instaed.

      I am very new to linux ,which one is simple to set up.

        I think Beryl is easier and you'll find more info for it. There are several howtos based on which Video card you're using.

        Search either ubuntuforums.org or go right to the source at forum.beryl-project.org. You'll find howtos like Beryl on KDE for nVideo or ATI or Intel, etc...
