Signal 11 when checking for new mail in KMail - Solved

I love KMail. I love Kontact. Now I am totally lost. Everytime I try to check for new mail this horrendous message appears:

The application Kontact (kontact) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)

and to top it I tried to do a backtrace and it only said that it can't do it since it cant find gdb

Ehehe, somehow I managed to fix it - I think. What I did was click on any folder before I check for new mail. Weird ain't it?
