keyboard Locks Up

After bootup, I login ok. then keyboard becomes useless. Mouse works. I just installed this past week. Everything was ok, at first, then this happened when trying to login to e-mail.

Help?
I am moving from win98 SE to kubuntu/dapper version. Keyboard still works in windows.

Im new in Linux, so sorry if this doesnt help you

When i was using SuSE, every "after boot", my keyboard has same problem. The solution is only unplug the cable and then plug it again

Thanks so much! I never tried that, and since I had already re-installed, I didn't get the chance to prove out your suggestion. There is so much to learn! So little time! Thanks again.
