    SSH in KDE

I installed KDE in my already gnome box but when I am in KDE it doesnt accept the SSH...I mean I cant ssh into that box.

Do I need to open some port or do something in KDE ...in gnome it works like a charm.

You mean you can't connect at all?...kde shouldn't have anything to do with that, the ssh daemon is generally started before you even login.

    1. Check that a 'sshd' process is running (you can get a process list with Ctrl+Esc).
    2. have you set up a firewall on your machine? If so, you may need to allow ssh connections.

The easiest way is to use a GUI configuration tool like guarddog or firestarter, but since you have to ask, firewall probably isn't the problem...unless you've set one in gnome.
