On last Sunday I found that it began to take a long time (over a minute) to access the BBC or slashdot.(or any url). It has continued to be slow.
I just fired up my XP machine and I accessed BBC news within a few seconds.(using opera, as I had used opera with Kubuntu)
Something is wrong!
I have been downloading all the "updates" that are signaled on the bottom of the screen.
A long time ago I read something about machines that were searching using IPv6 and that this was slowing them down.
I have not, to my knowledge, done anything to make my machine switch to IPv6 (if, indeed, it has)(how can I tell?)
If worse comes to worse I will back up and do a clean install of the next version of Kubuntu; but I would like to know how I screwed up!
Thanks
