KDE 355 Certain settings revert to default values

I recently downloaded KDE 3.5.5 from the Kubuntu repositry.

I found that the bugs in 3.5.4 concerning : screen saver , power management and time and date, all reverting to default values on close down still exist.

I have a work around to screen saver from the forum

In .kde/share/config/desktoprc enter after screen saver section
DPMS-dependent=false

I am looking for solutions to the other two bugs.

P.S. I feel such basic bugs might be enough to discourage a new user to Kubuntu and should not have been left outstanding since July

Thank you johnfw7. My screensaver works now after adding that line. But my file was named kdesktoprc, and it took a little while, when I realized that. I agree too what you say about uncorrected bugs.
