    Installing java on kubuntu 6.06

    How do i install java on kubuntu 6.06?

    I Was trying to get into sources.list as an root but he wont start up. Wat i gonna do now?

    try www.getautomatix.com, follow the instructions and, amongst other things you can have sun java jdk/jre 1.5 installed

      As a side comment though, If I may say so, Automatix installs many non free stuff.

      IMHO using proprietary stuff (depending on which country you are from) is the same as using pirated Windows.

        Oh wait, i installed it with command:sudo apt-get install sun-java5-jre sun-java5-plugin

        Then i installed firefox and i can work with it

        Ty for tips anyway
