update connection problems

Hi,
    When i try to update my packages i get this on my Kosole

Err http://au.archive.ubuntu.com dapper Release.gpg
  Could not connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (1.0.0.0), connection timed out
Err http://security.ubuntu.com dapper-security Release.gpg
  Could not connect to security.ubuntu.com:80 (1.0.0.0), connection timed out

Err http://au.archive.ubuntu.com dapper-backports Release.gpg

Failed to fetch http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/.../Release.gpg  Could not connect to au.archive.ubuntu.com:80 (1.0.0.0), connection timed out

Not sure why it is trying to reach the repositories at 1.0.0.0 also firefox will not load any pages but konqueror loads everything fine.. any help is much appreciated

EDIT: Seems like it is a dns problem with everything but konqueror

seems this was a problem caused by my ADSL Modem a D-Link 502T having a few problems with DNS you can find the solution Here
