Newbie stumped by PPP's failure to connect . . .

Okay, I found the "fix" for the ppp problem: remove the # from #noauth. Seems simple enough, doesn't it . . .

Well, I can get to the file and delete the # but I don't have permission to save the file or make a change! Gee, I'm the only user! Have I missed giving myself permission somewhere?

    Please help.

Note: I can't believe they released this with such a flaw. I stopped using Ubuntu because of the random 640x480 screen resolution--yet, this has happened with Kubunto, also!

If you navigate to it with Konqueror, you should be able to right click on the file, go to Actions and then select edit as root. You will have to input your password (the same one for your user account) and then you will be able to edit it and save it. Good luck.
