I can't add my local usb printer (HP PSC 750). I opened the Add Print Wizzard and I am unable to check the local printer tab. What am I doing wrong?

that IS pretty weird. I have two laptops here, both with updated kubuntu (as the only OS on them) and one WILL let me add a local printer while the other one WON'T let me add a local printer!
What's going on with that!

when I have this problem I just reinstall cups. I have to reinstall cups a few times since installation. cups is still buggy but is easier to use.Comment

I removed cups by doing the "apt-get remove cupsys." Then I reinstalled cups with "apt-get install cupsys." It did not fix the problem. The local/usb/serial option is still not an option. :-(
I downloaded the new version of Kubuntu 6.10 and the printer works great on my Desktop.
Maybe it's just time for an upgrade on the old laptop too.
