    Screen Saver

KDE - I do a right click on the desktop choose Configure Desktop choose screen saver and then choose the clock. Start 5 min. That all works but after 15 min or so another screen saver takes over - I think from X - how can I turn that one off.

    United,

the console command [sudo] dpkg --list | grep 'screensaver' should give you a list of all relevant packages lurking on your system (where ii means "installed") - but, as far as I know, by default only Kscreensaver will be there ... in our days, the X server's screensaver packages (which I prefer, as I have to admit) are subject to explicit (read: manual) installation.

O.k., then it might be a good idea to disable KDE's screen saver completely and see what is going to happen ... I would expect the screen to get blank after a certain time - which would be a case of "unrequested power management"
