    problems with k3b

I dunno what's up, but k3b is making me crazy.
I've changed from ubuntu to kubuntu (IMHO I think kde and kubuntu espacially are better...). Anyway, with ubuntu cdrecording was just working perfectly without tweaking anything. Just put in the cd and record, all there.
K3b, the supposed shuttle of cdrecording under linux it prevent me to record cd (or dvd) if I dont open it as root.

I understand that is a permission problem, I've run the k3b setup in all the possibile way, but nothing worked.
    Now, my devices are:
    /dev/scd1 666 root.cdrom (I'm part of the cdrom group)
    /dev/sg2 666 root.cdrom (sg2 is a "mirror" of a scd1)
/dev/scd0 666 root.cdrom (this is the cd recorder)
    /dev/sg1 666 root.cdrom (sg1 is a "mirror" od scd2)

The problem is that if I try to record a cd with my no-root user, I got always an error telling me that cdrecord have no permission to access the device. The very strange think is that the device it attempts to access is sg0 ( i dunno which device should be)

I've changed permission to cdrecord to 777, thinking it could make something, but it didn't work.
Is there anyone who can help me burn cd as a not-root user with k3b?

    Thanks

    Re: problems with k3b

I found that sg0 it something like my SCSI controller (sata, but linux seems to detect it like scsi).
I change owner group for that device from root to cdrom and now cdrecord is able to detect it also if Irun k3b with my no-root user.

The only "little" problem is that now I've got always a buffer underrun either if I run k3b as root or as not-root user.

Very funny. I'm gettin tired with this. It's seems that is would be impossible for me to record cd or dvd from kubuntu (I'm going to reinstall Ubuntu if this think doesn't fix).
I haven't found another program in adept that can substitute k3b.
Any suggestion for this? is there something good running in kde that is not k3b for cd/dvd recording?
