Cant install Synaptic Package Manager on AMD64

I just installed Kubuntu on my new AMD Turion X2 Laptop.
Now I cant seam to install Synaptic Package Manager.  Adapt cant find it and when I use the install program in the KMenu it's greyed out.
I did add all the repositories so I dont get the problem.

You have probably done this but, try sudo apt-get update then apt-cache search synaptic. If its listed in the output then do sudo apt-get install synaptic.

I did a complete re-install and now it works.
