    BROKEN(installed)

im attempting to install/run compiz+xgl and i ALMOST have it working. When i load up the KDE profile i created to run with XGL it looks beautiful, everything fades and moves nicely, BUT i have no window decorations at all, nothing shows so there is no way to move or resize any windows. I found that the problem is with compiz. In adept it reports it as being BROKEN(installed). The next logical step.....reinstall it. BUT adept keeps giving me this error:
"There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages. "

also, it might be useful to note that i tried just downloading and installing compiz seperately as a .deb but it would not install becuase it had dependancies that i could not meet. Many of the things it needed were not a high enough version in adept so i could no go that route.

so basically what im asking is why can i not remove compiz?

    Re: BROKEN(installed)

have you tried sudo apt-get -f install compiz. I think there is a apt-get fix broken.
dpkg -configure -a might work also.

I tried Enlightenment once, it was pretty cool.
