Kubuntu 6.06 Server

Hey all,

I was just wondering wheter a kubuntu 6.06 SERVER edition exist.
I cant seem to find where to download one and I can only find the ubuntu 6.06 server LTS version.

Am I missing something or does Kubuntu server doesnt exit?

I know in < Kubuntu 5.10 you can set the server install with the same desktop CD but I saw something new on the dapper CD with the option set for LAMP install already there. I also know that the server option on the older CD's does not install any GUI. Thats why Im wondering if a Kubuntu Server CD exit and whether I should just download the Ubuntu CD to install LAMP.

No, a kubuntu-server doesn't exist. Yes, install the Lamp via the ubuntu-server first, then

apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

this last command will result in you being asked for the server cd again, insert it, and ubuntu's desktop will install. Then, when you're in ubuntu, (I made only a few tweaks, like changing the default sound from the usb microphone to the mainboard's sound, but you probably don't have to do any tweaks) install the kubuntu-desktop through synaptic.

That's what I had to do, and it worked for me.

Use alternative iso, if you want RAID, LVM, etc..
