Post install Adept has only 937 available packages

Good day to everyone!

I've just installed the 6.06.1 Dvd. After the installer has requested to reboot the system ... I did so, loaded windows to call a friend, since my Internet connection was not yet configured under linux and then rebooted back to kubuntu.
So far so good but adept is now showing that only 937 packages are avaiable and all of them are installed ... I've tried configuring my i-net connection in order to use the online repositories but I failed since the driver compilation requires things that are not yet installed (like "make install = unknown command" )
I've tried adding my DVD as source to adept ... but no luck.
I would appreciate any insides about getting this thing fixed :P...

here is a link to a good sources.list for you. just add or uncooment the source you want in your /etc/apt/sources.list

no effect, I even replaced the version to 6.06.1 and it still doesnt want to show the rest of the packages.

did you

sudo apt-get update

?
