    Problems with install of flashplayer

    Hi,

I'm trying to install flashplugin-nonfree in order to see some pages at firefox.

I already installed the easyubuntu and marked the option for flash player.

However, my firefox always asks me to install flash player, when I try to open such pages that require flash player.

When I try to install it by entering sudo apt-get install flashplugin-non free (also trying to install it through the adept or synaptic I got an error), I always get this answer:

    Setting up flashplugin-nonfree (7.0.68~ubuntu1~dapper1) ...

Could anyone help me with a detailed explanation, how to correct this error and finally install flashplugin??

      Good advices:

      Topic: flashplugin-nonfree update problem
      http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=9172.0

      And as someguyouknow said:

Goto adobe and dowload it from there.

      It has own installer or:

To manually install the Plug-in Player for Linux, follow these directions:

      - Copy the following files to your browser's plugins folder:
      libflashplayer.so
      flashplayer.xpt
      Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

Re: Problems with install of flashplayer

Thank you very much to try to help me.

I already went to the macromedia site (before I wrote here) and downloaded the package, but there is no exactly explanation which commands I have to enter in the console to install it and where to extract it before install it. (I'm kubuntu new user)

Besides, I don't know where the browser's plugins folder is located in order to copy the files flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so to there.

        Please help me

        Thanks and regards
        Lu

Re: Problems with install of flashplayer

A fixed flashplugin-nonfree update is now available in dapper-backports. Mirrors/servers might take time to update, but it's already on the main server (archive.ubuntu.com). Just make sure that you will be installing/upgrading to flashplugin-nonfree 7.0.68~ubuntu2~dapper1 (the bugged version was ~ubuntu1~dapper1).
