Hello all,
Could someone explain to me why some distro X uses 57MB RAM while using latest KDE and Ubuntu/Kubuntu uses 167MB? (that is without cache and buffers already)
I'm not totally newbie-asking this, but come on, 100MB? What's the explanation? Distro X that I tested is Kurumin (a brazillian distro). It is very knoppix based, and I can't seem to miss anything that ubuntu have.
So, services, fonts, better kernel... what could account for this difference? And could I achieve such a low memory comsumption with Ubuntu/Kubuntu like this without loosing much functionalitty?
thanks
