Konsole log in

What is the default log for su? The only password I assigned during install was for the user. Tried using root, no joy.

Hi,

In fact, su is not used as you never set the root password. You should use sudo and kdesu to be able to run commands or applications as root.

I think you should check about sudo in the kubuntu wiki.

...and if you want to be root in a shell, just type

sudo -i

Hello, or you can set a permanently set password by using:
sudo password your-password
and then just run su and type in the pass you've just given!
