Is there a way use the "special" keys on my keyboard?

I have a Microsoft keyboard with extra buttons like play, pause, zoom, etc.
i want to know if i can map them to open Amarok or something.

I am using Klineak on my EVO notebook (6 extra keys) and its work fine

Simple solution to this - enable keyboard layouts and select Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro in kcontrol> regional and accessability> keyboard layout if your keyboard isn't already listed. It works with just about any multimedia keyboard out there. Then go to keyboard shortcuts and program them. The bonus here - if you reinstall or upgrade your multimedia keys stay programmed rather than you having to repeat the process again.
