Adept won't start anymore

I tried to install the Java-plugin with Adept, but it got stuck waiting for a confirmation which I couldn't give, cause the 'details' box didn't show the whole text, so I just closed Adept. Anyway, after that Adept didn't start anymore: it asks for my password and then nothing. I tried a few commands I found on various forums:
sudo apt-get -f remove (gave an error about a lock file, tried sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock, then sudo apt-get -f remove again)
sudo apt-get update
It still doesn't work.
Please help me get Adept back up and running.

Try this in Konsole:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

it will continue with the Java installation and allow you to confirm the License Agreement.

Thanks Jucato. That and a reboot seem to have done the trick.
