Hi all. I'm not new to Linux (I've used Ubuntu in the past, so I sorta know my way around the system) but I am pretty new to KDE as I'm used to using Gnome (I migrated because for some reason the newest version of Amarok refused to install in Ubuntu and I found it unacceptable to be using an outdated version of the software). So far I am liking it more and more. But I have a couple of issues I need to work out. First has to do with logging in. Each time I log in the first settings wizard appears and makes me go through choosing all the settings that I had previously. It also resets the icon mouseover effect which I always turn off because I find it extremely annoying. Does anyone know what could be causing that? The second issue that is bothering me is that I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change themes. I've looked everywhere and can't find any sort of option to do so. I know I could do it in Suse (as I used KDE then during my brief flirt with Suse Linux). The last thing that is bothering me is ipod support. I attach my iPod to the computer and Kubuntu recognizes it (for some reason as an optical disc? ) but does not mount it. Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

the first issue can be solved by setting to false the following line in /usr/bin/startkde :
kpersonalizerrc General FirstLogin true
the second i am not sure what its called but use adept to search for themes or theme manager

Re: A Few Issues With Kubuntu
for the ipod, try not to open it when KDE asks what to do with the device, instead cancel the "new device found" window, go to the media system folder "system:/media" and try to mount the ipod there...
this also happens to me with external harddrives and even with cds
good luck

Re: A Few Issues With Kubuntu
Okay I got the ipod problem solved (deleted a file on the iPod, Ituneslock or something. hope that doesn't cause any issues in the future). I also reinstalled Kubuntu and the first settings wizard problem went away as well. I still haven't figured out the themes problem yet though. I installed a program called dekorator and it doesn't appear in the program menu. Anyone else have any other ideas?
