Help getting rid of sounds when switching desktops

everytime i switch desktops, kubuntu decides it would be a good time to play a sound. which is getting annoying. I have already gone into system settings and kcontrol and turned off all system sounds, but that hasn't worked. any ideas?

Hi spacepirates, welcome to the Kubuntu forums

Have a look here

Kmenu>Settings>Sound and Multimedia>System Notifications

In Event Source, choose The KDE Window Manager

Then just scroll down and disable whichever desktop sound you dislike.

alas! i missed this drop-down menu. thank you, i believe this has solved my dilema.
