How do I chge the permissions for firefox.

Maybe this might help?

sudo chown -R bootdoc:bootdoc /home/bootdoc/.mozilla

If that doesn't work, can you post the output of this terminal command?

in the /home partition is a hidden folder .mozilla

within this folder is a folder called firefox
delete the firefox folder then try opening firefox ...

Thanks for the help! I finally had to reinstall because of other more severe problems with the dcopserver and x crashing. Back to kde 3.5.3 until 3.5.4 is more stable.
