Added incorrect respository - Adeptwon't start now

Hi ,
I just added a respository in adept . It was the" deb "upfront missing, now i can't start adept any longer. I located the file with the list of repositories opened with Kate and am able to change what i want ....except one thing i am not root . Whenever i try to save the "repaired" respository i get the message that i don't have the "Rights" to do this....
anybody knows a workaround?
I am running kubuntu 6.06 ...
