    Need acroread and flash-plugins

I have been unable to install the Adobe Reader 7 and the Firefox Flash plugins. I thought that I had all repositories enabled in /etc/apt/sources.list. What repository are they in?

If you have enabled all the repos, type
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
and then try to get those packages again, or if using Adept click Fetch Updates. If still no luck:

Try using Automatix. You can get it here: http://www.getautomatix.com

Follow the instructions and you can select those 2 packages, among many others. Plus, if you have an nVidia video card, you can have it install the latest drivers for you as well. It makes its own entry into sources.list with it's own repo's. At the end of the installation of your packages, you can revert back to your original sources.list when it asks you.

No it is still not working. I have all the repos enabled, but apt/adept cannot find "acroread". The closest thing is "acroread-debian-files" but this package depends on "acroread". Note I am using x86_64.

i have been told off for posting this before but i have found that it is the easiest way to get the media that i require installed without any fuss so i shall post it again ...

add this to your apt-get/sources list
        deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ sarge main

then install the media players/content that you require ...

Acroread and flashplugin-nonfree are in multiverse (note that's multiverse, not universe)

To include the multiverse repositories you actually have to add them (you can add the word 'multiverse' after 'universe' on the lines that set the universe repositories.).
