    ok now, how do i turn XGL/Compiz off?

    The guide i used runs XGL/Compiz on top of KDE. How do i turn it off?

    I think you need to undo the edits to the kdm files (kdmrc?) but I have not toyed with xgl/compz i quite a while so I am not sure if its still the same install process.

      I wish that guide would create a seperate desktop session for you.
      I found another guide that does but i never got it to work.

        I had coded by hand all of the Xgl/Compiz code, and had the same problem you had. I edited kdm back to normal. I then found a slick way to get it in no time, and in it's own session. It's Automatix Bleeder. You can get it here:

          i tried that. it didnt work out for me. I might try it again but it left a bitter taste in mouth since i didnt know how to fix it after it messed me up.

            What exactly happend? Automatix is usually a great quick app, usually don't hear negetives about it. I'm always willing to lend a suggestion

              I am not sure exactly what was wrong but i think it had to do with the file you told me to change.
