    KOffice 1.5.2

I'm using Dapper and just recently, I tried to install the new KOffice version (1.5.2). The packages were updated but refused to upgrade because there was a broken package: koffice-libs. Eventually I did "sudo apt-get update", and got the following:
    Code:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
So, I did what was suggested and got the following:

    Code:

How do I fix this problem? It appears that koffice libs was not updated in the repos. Is there any way to get around this annoying problem?

    Thanks is advance,

    Re: KOffice 1.5.2

Well, for one, you could remove or comment out the cdrom line in your sources.list. After doing that, update and try again.

But it also seems that you're problems connecting to the kubuntu.org repository. you might want to use a mirror (available from the KOffice 1.5.2 announcement page on Kubuntu.org).

You could also post the contents of your sources.list here so that it could be checked.

        Re: KOffice 1.5.2

heh, you've accumulated quite a lot there.

First, disable/comment out the "deb cdrom" repository.

Then you could also disabled the "deb-src" repositories. These contain source code for packages, and unless you want to be always compiling, better leave these disabled. it will speed up updating, too.

You can also safely remove the older repositories for KDE 3.5.1 (why do you have this anyway?), KOffice 1.5, and Amarok 13.8 (again, why is this here?).

Now once you've saved this, you can try updating and upgrading again.

If that still doesn't work, you might need to enabled/uncomment this line:

        # deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security universe
and adding "universe" at the end of this line:

        deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-updates main restricted
        Hope that helps.

          Re: KOffice 1.5.2

I did as you suggested. Unfortunately, it didn't work. But at least I cleaned up the file.

Also, I get almost no err messeges (other than those regarding KOffice).

At any rate, I'm sure the problem will be resolved in a future release of KOffice or Kubuntu.

Thank you for all your help, and all the best.
