Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm updating now, but the bug fix list includes the following:

# Fixed bug which prevented Amarok from creating the collection database in rare circumstances using SQLite. (BR 133072)
# Collection scanner would only restart a maximum of 2 times instead of 20. (fixed in SVN revision 578922)

So hopefully they've addressed it.

It's still there. It fails on different files now, and after 20 instead of 2, but it's still there.

Are you using SQLite for a DB or MySQL? Also, instead of using smbfs, try using nfs instead. Worth a shot.
