    screensaver configuration

    According to Help:
Choosing the screen saver, and configuring its options
In the Settings box is a check box labeled Start screen saver automatically. This box must have a mark in it, or KDE will not launch any screen saver and it will not allow you to adjust the settings of your screen saver.

I have said box checked, but it still tells me the screensaver is not configured, and it definitely doesnt work.

is this something that can be forced in a config file- if so, where?
    any other suggestions?

    Re: screensaver configuration

First of all, you really do have to configure some screen savers to use them, but I too found that Ithere are screensavers that I can't configure for some unknown reason (other than the fact that KDE has been having trouble with screensavers lately). If you find a screensaver that does not require configuration and select it. You can start it from the lock screen button (the little blue lock, on the bottom panel). You will need your password to clear it, which is exactly why I use that method.
