    Installing Debian Packages

    I have installed Kubuntu 6.0.6, when I double click on a debian package i get the error message Ark, Utility not on your path yet when I enter which ark it finds the one installed

    If you are trying to install a .deb package, right-click on it then select Kubuntu Package Menu > Install Package.

    You can do a similar thing in Konsole by going to the directory where the .deb is located and typing:

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i <.deb filename>
    Btw, if you're trying to install a program, try looking in the repositories first if it's available there. It will save you a lot of effort if you install from the repositories.

      I installed it via Adept. now? what can I do? sorry but I'm new to linux ( few days ) and don't really know how to move...
