    Odd alternating colors

Recently I have been playing with the appearance of my desktop, and something changed that I really dont like but dont know how to fix. This is that in some menus the colors alternate between white and an ugly brown. However it is not all menus, like the kmenu (doesnt happen in kmenu). One thing that is effected is the Gaim buddy list and since I have gtk set to use kde theme, I am assuming it is something that I could configure with kdecontrol. I think that I have to configure qt curve correctly (the widget style I am using) but I cant seem to find the correct setting.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this alternating colors thing?

    Re: Odd alternating colors

It's not actually a "menu" color, but a "list" color. KDE uses 2 background colors for lists: the standard background color, and an alternate list color.

K Menu > System Settings > Appearance > Color > choose "Alternate Background in Lists" from the drop down menu in the Widget color group. Set it to the same color as the standard background color, and you're all set.

    Hope that helps.
