ktalkd? Or other local chat solutions?

I wanted to have a local network chat for my two machines and found a ktalkd, but can't get it to work. It not well documented and i can't find a graphical frontend for it. Is anyone have an experience with ktalkd and can help me with? Or, maybe, there are other local chat solutions that i'm not aware of?

In addition to the talk daemon, you need a talk program. Take a look at the "talk", "utalk", "xtalk", and "ytalk" packages. If there is any user documentation, you'll find it in the "kdenetwork" package, but don't expect much.
