    dumb new gamin issue

i'm having a new problem with gamin that just showed up in the past couple weeks. it's not the old 99% cpu usage issue or memory leak issue, i've seen those before.
gam_server is running constantly with 5-10% cpu usage and i can't seem to get rid of it. normally it might not bother me but it's just popped up recently and is really annoying. i only noticed it because i run gkrellm and a sudden constant cpu usage stands out (especially since its not happening on my other kubuntu machine).
i've tried changing the poll rate in /etc/gamin/gaminrc but that didn't seem to do anything.
    has anyone else seen this?

Personally, I don't recall seeing Gamin at all since I upgraded to Dapper, even though I have Gnome installed and am using a number of Gnome programs. I'm not sure what, if anything, KDE uses to check for file changes (FAM?), but if you're running KDE, you don't need Gamin, and, based on my limited experience, you don't need it to run Gnome apps, either.
