Konqueror rar extension

Hey,
I'm having a problem with Konqueror with rar files.
Each time I try to open one up instead of going straight to ark it opens it up as a binary in the Konqueror window.
I have tryed to change settings in the file associations box for rar but nothing makes ark open automatically.

And yes I have installed rar from rarlabs.com and can open rar files but if I right click on a link. (if given a url to go to I can't download it)

Your post does not say specifically that you've tried this, so I will suggest the following:  Launch Konqueror, right click on any RAR archive, and choose Open With.  If Ark is listed, choose it.  If it isn't, choose Other, and select it from your applications menu.  In either case, be sure Remember application association for this type file is checked.
