Links in PDF files opened in Firefox

I am having a problem opening links in PDF files opened within Firefox. The link returns an error message saying the plugin required by this url is not available. Any idea why?

Use Automatix to install acrobat reader and firefox plug in. Information about Automatix can be found here:

Thanks for replying, but unfortunately I didn't communicate my problem clearly enough. The problem is not that I cannot open PDFs in Firefox. I can. I cannot get links in PDF files to open Firefox. I actually installed acroread using automatix. But the links in PDF files once they are opened will not open FF. It says the plugin I need to open the URL is missing. I have the acrobate reader and the plug in to open PDF files installed and working. This is an entirely different issue.
