why no wine, kmplayer, realplayerin repo?

Hi am very new to kubuntu, not to linux, but kubuntu, and this is very different then the other I used till now, eventhought it is also kde.
I searched in the Repo for Wine, Kmplayer, Mplayer, Showphoto, realplayer, etc, but nothing in ther for to install. How to get it and from where? I enabled also "not supported" but still I couldn`t find. And what about all the grayed out software in the repo? it is also not to download. please help.

Did you add/enable universe and multiverse repositories in your repository list? That's where you'd probably find most of those.

        Good howto:

        Enabling Extra Repositories
        http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/sources.php

        From Sources.list generator (http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic):
Here you can generate an ubuntu sources.list for your preferred set of repositories. Just tick all repositories you want. The default set is selected automatically.

        Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?
        1. Thread: Please explain how to access old kubuntu forum posts
        2. Thread: Lost Information

First of all take a big breath and relax.

Next you can only do what is already installed on the disk.

If you do not do a complete install then you cannot do other things. The live CD is to show you the basic or so in Kubuntu.

As to how to add the other repositories once you have installed its easy.

            Start Adept. Enter your password
            View->manage repositories.
            Enable all the disabled ones.
            Click apply
            Done.

            Its not hard at all.

If you want to install kubuntu just use a 10 gig partition and let it partition it for you.
Or make a ext of about 5gig for /
            other 4 gig for /home
            and 1 gig for SWAP.
            its really quit easy.

            Take care

              Hi michellembrodeur,
thank you for your very gentle answer. I apologize, I didn`t know that that I cand ony do when i have already installed kubuntu, I thought it would work cause i burned the iso cd file to a big
DVD, lol, it really looks so beautiful the kubuntu distro, also was on the live cd much more easierthen the ubuntu who has gnome, this was too difficult. Also kubuntu i could boot up the live cd without any problems and so fast everything is working, all fly`s. So now i know what i have to do.
              Thank you for your kindness.
              Ilana.

Also, I found Automatix VERY usefull while installing stuff like Java, Flash and such... Also installs 'wine' for you.
