Help with Sound Config.

Hi I'm new to the Kubuntu forums.

I recently installed the latest version of Kubuntu on a new system and made sure to get all the updates. My system automatically recognized my sound card and it works fine. Kubuntu and programs like Gaim can use it with no problem, but when I go to play a cd on Grip, Xmms, etc. it doesn't work. The cd is being read but there is no sound coming from my speakers. What's wrong?

I have a similar problem and there is a thread in the Hardware section, take a look and see if it helps you, my problem remains though.
