My video card doesn't support DRI, and when I use Mesa/X compiled with DRI support even glxgears become choppy. I'm now on a LFS system (downloading kubuntu dapper via torrent
), and I'd like to know if there are .debs for X/Mesa without DRI support or if I do need to compile them myself.
If this "speedup" happens only because my configuration doesn't even tries to load DRI on the first place, is there a way to change X's configuration to ignore DRI and uses software rendering as fast as possible?
NOTE: I'm on twm and xterm. May this also be the cause?
