No transparency in Crystal Window Decoration

I used to use the Suse 10.0 Distro and added Crystal window decoration from KDE-Look.org. I had no trouble enabling transparency in the window decoration.

Now I'm using Kubuntu Dapper which comes with the Crystal window dec by default. However, I can't enable transparency for it. Why?

System Settings->Appearance->Window Decorations
Select the Background Tab
Check the 'Enable Transparency' checkbox
Change the amount of 'Fade' to adjust the level of transparency

thx for the help, but this doesn't seem works for me.

I have solved the problem by
Step 1. System Settings ->Desktop -> Windows Behaviour -> Translucency -> checked the "Use translucency/shadows"
Step 2. editing the xorg.conf.
Adding:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

After that, my transparency is not restricted by Crystal, WooooooooooooW

Careful. Composite managers are still fairly new and buggy. You might eventually run into some problems, especially if you run opengl apps (ex: games, like ut2004). I tried the KDE composite manager a few months ago...It was very pretty but not worth the headaches for me. I'll probably try compositing again in several months, after its matured somewhat.
