    problem downloading updates with Adept

hi i've clicked on the notification icon for updates on my kde, where there were a pop up message saying that there are 102 updates packages available, and then selected fetch list of updates. when it came to click on apply changes i got an error message :" There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages".
i also have the same message when i try for example to install a package like libgtk2.0-0. in another word i'm not able to download packages via internet.how can i make adept or apt via konsole to be aware of my connection. i previously connected via a proxy and now i'm connected directly on the internet and i'm writing this from konqueror browser.

    thanks for any help.

Please post the results of the following in the command line:

      sudo apt-get update

      sudo apt-get install <name_of_package_you_are_trying_to_install>

I had this the other day - I think one of the packages was broken for a short while.

Perhaps harys no longer has this problem.
