Firefox Dialogue Fonts Broken (32 bit FF on AMD64)

I am running 32 bit Firefox on my AMD64 using linux32 and everything has been going swimmingly. But last night a problem arose with the fonts being used in dialogue boxes, for example the Save Link As dialogue. The fonts are being displayed as those boxes ([]).

Now I think there are two possible causes. 1, I accepted an update last night from synaptic:
    Code:
    Upgraded the following packages:
    base-files (3.1.9ubuntu7) to 3.1.9ubuntu7.1
    cupsys (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    cupsys-bsd (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    cupsys-client (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    gnome-screensaver (2.14.2-0ubuntu1) to 2.14.3-0ubuntu1
    gnupg (1.4.2.2-1ubuntu2.1) to 1.4.2.2-1ubuntu2.2
    ia32-libs-gtk (16) to 16.1
    kubuntu-docs (6.06-11) to 6.06-12
    language-selector-common (0.1.20) to 0.1.20.1
    language-selector-qt (0.1.20) to 0.1.20.1
    libcupsimage2 (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    libcupsys2 (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    libcupsys2-dev (1.2.1-0ubuntu2) to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06
    libnautilus-extension1 (2.14.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.14.3-0ubuntu1
    linux-headers-2.6.15-26 (2.6.15-26.45) to 2.6.15-26.46
    linux-headers-2.6.15-26-amd64-generic (2.6.15-26.45) to 2.6.15-26.46
    linux-image-2.6.15-26-amd64-generic (2.6.15-26.45) to 2.6.15-26.46
    linux-kernel-devel (2.6.15-26.45) to 2.6.15-26.46
    linux-source-2.6.15 (2.6.15-26.45) to 2.6.15-26.46
    nautilus (2.14.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.14.3-0ubuntu1
    nautilus-data (2.14.1-0ubuntu9) to 2.14.3-0ubuntu1
And 2, I was trying to get a 32 bit version of MPlayer to run last night. For this I installed
    Code:
    libgtk1.2 (1.2.10-18)
    libgtk1.2-common (1.2.10-18)
    lib32ncurses5 (5.5-1ubuntu3)
    lib32asound2 (1.0.10-2ubuntu4)
    ia32-libs-sdl (1.0ubuntu1)
    ia32-libs-kde (7.2)
    libkrb53 (1.4.3-5)
    and reinstalled
    Code:
    ia32-libs (1.4ubuntu20)
    ia32-libs-gtk (16.1)
    ia32-libs-openoffice.org (11.0.1)
After the problem began I removed the newly installed packages. Also I tried reinstalling the libgtk2 libs (guessing that that might be the source of the problem). But the problem persists. I havent seen it in any other program as yet, just FF.

Although, in case it helps, around the same time I began to have a problem with ndiswrapper. I eventually got it working by removing it as thoroughly as I could and then reinstalling it (from source).

Just to clarify, Firefox looks fine. All the fonts Im looking at now are normal. Its just if I open a dialogue. **** it, Ill just attach a screen shot.

Im sure this is a simple thing, just a lib needs to be reinstalled or something ... Anyone know?

    Thanks,

    Hmmm ... related problem?
Thunderbird and addons.mozilla.org cannot communicate securely because they have no comon encryption algorithms.
Again its 32 bit run via linux32.

    Help!

Hooray. It fixed itself. Had another upgrade so that must have been it.

Comparing the two upgrades (the one that caused the problem and the one that solved it) I think ia32-libs-gtk (16.0 causing, 16.1solving) was the only one common to both, and hence the problem.
