Adept running at start up due to crash

    Hello everybody

I have a very annoying problem

I recently tried to install Sun java; however, in the middle of the java-bin insall, adept decided to freeze (0 activity for like 5 mins). I then closed the window.

I noticed that there was an update. I tried to retrieve the update. However, I get a message saying the following.

Another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application or apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one.
I am not running apt, apt-get, or aptitude.

Does anyone know how I can kill the other process using the package system database?

    Try this:

    In Konsole, enter this command
    Code:
    sudo dpkg --configure -a
Btw, when installing Sun's Java, I think it should be done in the command line, because you have to agree to a licensing agreement that doesn't show up in Adept, that's why it hangs...

Hmm.... There should be a prominent notice about this. Seems like many people are experiencing this problem.

      Thanks

For some reason Adept is thinking that java-bin is upgradable (even though it isn't installed)
