can't save new Open Office files in a FAT32 partition

I have a FAT32 partition and Open Office won't let me save new files in that partition. It only lets me save changes to files that were already there.

The exact message I get when trying to save a new document into the FAT32 partition is "Saving using protocol media is not supported"

media:/ is konqueror's own method for pointing to external, removable, or otherwise non-native (not mounted to root) partitions.
However, these partitions are all mounted by default (at least by default on my system) in /media.
So, instead of saving to media:/hda1/filename, find your way to /media/hda1/filename.

Also, if this doesn't solve the problem totally, make sure the partition is actually mounted, not just showing up. Right click on the desktop icon (or icon in media:/ in konqueror) and click "mount". Otherwise mount it manually on the terminal, but i find that to be a hastle within a GUI as nice as KDE

    Hope it helps!
