Files missing in konqueror, but visible in terminal and nautilus

Just saved some files in open office writer, and pictures from kooka, but can't see them in konqueror.
If I use ls in terminal they're still there, and I can see them in nautilus.
They're not hidden files, and i've tried enabling view hidden files anyway in konqueror.

    Stumped!

    thanks for any help

    Jon

Ok, just tried opening konqueror as root using gksudo, and can see all the files. But they're registered to me, and permissions set as everyone can read. WTF?

I'm having a similar problem. When opening my home directory, I get this error message:

      Code:
Failure reading the package '/home/*my-name*''s contents.
Any suggestions as to what I've screwed up?

      Thanks in advance,

edit: Reinstalled kde and all is well.
Didn't mean to crap your thread, jonboy99. Good luck getting sorted.
