Hi. I've been using Kubuntu 6.06 on my Acer Travelmate 8204 for about a month now. In general, things have been reasonably stable. However, I have had maybe 5 experiences where I was using Firefox (last 3 minor versions; currently using 1.5.0.5), and Linux crashed, either abruptly rebooting, or doing a sort of normal halt. In some of the cases, I was watching videos on YouTube or Google Video; in others (like the one that just happened), I had just brought the system up from having suspended it earlier, and just opened Firefox, when it performed a complete halt on me. I do think that most of the experiences have occurred when restoring from hibernation and suspend (which I do in lieu of powering down), although I don't know if there's a relationship. I am pretty sure that watching videos in FF will reproduce the problem.
So, is anyone familiar with this problem, and also, what logs should I be watching so that I can post a more-thorough description of the problem?
Thanks
[Update 060804 0845] Restored from suspended state this morning, launched Firefox, and system halted within about 20 seconds.
[Update 060814 2215] Apparently was related to using the ATI driver. Reconfigured X to use the default driver, and haven't had this problem since.
